Pohang Convention Center

New York-based H Architecture, in collaboration with Haeahn Architecture in South Korea, presents the Pohang Convention Center located in Pohang, South Korea. Situated on a site constrained by limited area and access, the project required a highly strategic approach to planning and program organization. Designed to serve as a key cultural and business hub, the convention center also anticipates future pedestrian linkages between the adjacent beachfront to the east and parkland to the west, reinforcing its role as an urban connector.

The design emphasizes efficient zoning and spatial clarity. The main concourse is oriented toward the south and east to enhance visibility and access while establishing a strong civic presence. Convention and exhibition facilities are positioned north of the concourse for streamlined operations and clear circulation. The top floor is oriented east–west to capture panoramic views of the ocean and park, housing premium commercial and event spaces that activate the building as a high-value platform for both local and international gatherings.
