Inspired by Korea’s natural scenery and the dynamic flow of the terrain, the high curve of Ap-Gu-Jeong is filled with rich natural elements. Like a field flowing with waves, the landscape is composed of various water levels that reflect Korea’s four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—forming a beautiful and appealing urban landscape.
The Ap-Gu-Jeong area is a unique space with significant natural value located in the heart of the city. The plan aims to maximize the beauty of the Han River and create a symbolic park that harmonizes nature and urban design.
To create an optimal environment and the best scenery, analyses of sunlight, wind, and views were conducted. Through close collaboration between architectural and landscaping elements, a unique and memorable space was created. Surrounding the development, green buffers with tall vegetation were used to ensure privacy and block unwanted views and noise. This buffer zone, rich with forests, trails, and mountain views, offers various experiential programs for residents. Comfortable interior courtyards with small gardens, lawns for sunbathing, playgrounds, pet parks, and quiet public spaces with water features enhance the living environment. The 8-meter setback provides a sense of independence and safety, creating a pedestrian-friendly streetscape linked to Ap-Gu-Jeong. The design seeks to harmonize the buildings with nature and the city, forming a symbolic complex that resonates with the elegant atmosphere of a modern French garden and the vibrant energy of the Han River.
